Amidst the redevelopment of Shibuya, which is said to be a once-in-a-century event,
dogenzaka-dori will open in Dogenzaka 2-chome, which is a node of mixed culture,
where the charm of the back alleys, as represented by Shibuya Hyakken-dana, which is part of Shibuya culture,
remains strong and connects to highly sensitive residential areas such as Shoto, Shinsen and Yoyogi.
A large-scale complex with a height of approximately 115m and a total floor area of 41,767m²,
consisting of three elements: a two-tiered shopping area where visitors can enjoy strolling around,
offices with cutting-edge facilities, and the Hotel Indigo Tokyo Shibuya,
a lifestyle boutique hotel that strongly illuminates the culture of the area.
Multiple entrances and exits will be created facing Bunkamura Street and Dogenzaka Koji,
creating a new face for Shibuya, where all kinds of customers who live, work, visit,
and stay in Shibuya will gather and intersect.
If you proceed along this street, you will encounter new discoveries, and enjoyment, leaving you energized for the next day.
The attractiveness of Shibuya, which has diverse values, will be improved,
becoming an entity that will lead to the revitalization of Shibuya.
The name was chosen to express the characteristic of "opening up the street" while also being a complex facility.
The logo color is named "Shibu-Ai", a derivative of the indigo color loved by Edo children, with a hint of austere dark green.
The Dodo Bird once lived on the island of Mauritius near Madagascar in the Indian Ocean and is now extinct.
Because it was on a paradise island with no natural enemies, it forgot how to fly and could only walk slowly.
It lived in peace and was not afraid of people, making it easy to catch.
In fact, past documents reveal that the bird was brought to Japan in 1647 through the Dejima trade with the Dutch.
In August 2023, this character was created as a tribute to the Dodo Bird, which also came to Japan.
The visual design is a character that symbolises the facility.
The motif is based on the initial "d" of dogenzaka-dori, and the body colour follows the dogenzaka-dori logo colour.
The face, tail and feet are based on the colour orange, which evokes an image of energy and liveliness,
and expresses the vigour of the character "dodo" as he struts around the facility.
